Which makes you feel worse -
When you are hurt,
or when you hurt someone you love.
To me the pain of hurting someone you love is permanent. It can never go away.
A Punjabi folklore has a line “Mitraan Nain Phool Maraya, Meri Rooh Amabaraan tak Rooyi” which means if those who love you throw even a flower at you, then your spirit aches till eternity.
But what happens to those who throw that flower. To me they are belittled. They fall in their own eyes. They are lost, never to be found again , and they loose some part of themselves maybe even permanently. They are incomplete. May be their spirit also abandons them. They experience hollowness.
